What is RSS

RSS stands for either ‘Really Simple Syndication’ or ‘Rich Site Summary’, depending on who you talk to.

It is a way of delivering information direct from websites to internet users without the need to keep visiting a site of interest. When new content is added to the site, RSS subscribers receive it automatically. In short, the news comes to you, so you stay informed and save time.

SOCA provides an RSS feed to alert users to updates in its News section.

How do I sign up?

To use RSS, you need a news reader. This is a piece of software that checks feeds and allows you to read articles. There are many different versions, some accessed via your browser and some downloadable.

RSS via your browser

Microsoft Internet Explorer (version 7 and above), Mozilla Firefox (version 2 and above) and Apple Safari are all browsers suitable for RSS feeds. If you have one of these, click on the link below to see the feed and subscribe to it in your browser.
