Anthony Craggs, born in Sunderland on 09/06/1978, was wanted for two armed robberies using firearms that occurred in Bournemouth and Edinburgh in 2003. A total of £90,000 was stolen as it was being delivered to two branches of the Abbey National by Securicor guards who were violently assaulted during both of the robberies. Craggs was arrested following information provided to Dutch Crimestoppers ‘M’.

David Armond, SOCA’s International Deputy Director, said: “Operation Captura has given decent people a way of stopping criminals from taking refuge amongst them. One after another, 33 fugitives have found out the hard way that there is nothing safe or comfortable about hiding out in Spain and the Netherlands. The 17 still on the Operation Captura Most Wanted list must know that thanks to the tremendous efforts of the public their days on the run are numbered.”
