A fraudster who claimed benefits whilst developing a substantial property portfolio watched as her empire went under the hammer at a Belfast auction last week. Thirteen houses seized from Frances McCluskey were sold for more than £1million. Five paintings were sold for just under £8,000.
Mrs McCluskey, who's 61, had claimed benefits for 11 years whilst simultaneously building her property empire. The Belfast woman agreed to hand over 41 houses under the Proceeds of Crime Act in January this year. The remaining properties will be sold over the coming months.
