We value all our staff very highly. That’s why we’re committed to providing a positive environment which recognises and values individual differences. These could be in age, disability, gender (including transgender), marital or parental status, race or ethnicity, religion or belief, sexual orientation, and work style.
We seek to create an inclusive culture. We also set standards which go beyond compliance with legislation, and aim to create a more diverse workforce.
SOCA’s well-established Staff Groups are designed to provide staff members of under-represented groups with an opportunity to engage, communicate, share ideas, and raise any concern on issues that may affect that group.
Our Staff Groups are both consultative and representative. That means we talk to them about all important aspects of working life and consult them about any proposed changes. In addition, they represent the needs of their members, both individually and as a whole.
